Philippians 4:4 tells us: Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! (NLT)
Jesus instructed us to, "Seek the Kingdom of God above all else... Matthew 6:33 (NLT)"
Romans says: For the kingdom of God is . . . righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, Romans 14:17 NLT
In 1 Thessalonians 1:6-7 we read of the Christians at Thessalonica "you became imitators of . . . the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. 7 And so you became a model to all the believers . . . " (NIV)
I wonder if others can say that of us??? Do we welcome the message with Joy in the midst of lifes challenges?
What I am starting to understand is that Joy comes from Seeking the presence of God! Joy overflows as we worship and praise God because God inhabits the praises of His people.
We live in a world that seems to be moving too fast sometimes. There are trials and struggles all around. Times are tough! People everywhere are facing challenges every day. My prayer for us is that we will follow Jesus' instructions and Seek first above all else the Joy of the Holy Spirit.
